Lightning disasters pose a significant natural threat to national welfare and public livelihood, presenting persistent challenges to the safe operation of critical infrastructure sectors including electric power, aviation, telecommunications, petrochemicals, forestry, new energy, and major facilities. To address the critical technological and industrial coordination bottlenecks in the field of lightning protection, the China Electrotechnical Society has scheduled to hold the 2026 2nd China Lightning Protection Conference(CLPC 2026) in Wuhan, Hubei Province, in November 2026. Themed "Advancing Lightning Protection Technology Self-reliance, Building a Safe foundation for Industry Development, " this conference directly confronts the frontier scientific challenges and major engineering needs in lightning protection. The conference will focus on precise lightning detection and warning, novel protective materials and equipment, intelligent operation and maintenance technologies, and cross-industry system solutions. It aims to establish a high-level platform integrating cutting-edge academic exchange, innovative achievement demonstrations, and industrial demand matching, thereby effectively promoting technological advancement and standardization innovation in lightning protection, and laying a resilient safety foundation for high-quality economic and social development. We sincerely invite experts, scholars, and industry colleagues from relevant industry authorities, associations and societies, research institutions, universities and colleges, and equipment manufacturing enterprises to attend the conference in Wuhan to discuss development strategies and share innovative achievements.
